Specifications

The early maturity of this grape allows you to harvest in mid-July. In more northern regions, the harvest of ripe clusters occurs at the end of August. Within the Rostov region, this variety ripens a week earlier than Arkady, which is considered the leader of early ripening.

Very early ripening periods show Gordey, Super early seedless and Muscat White.

INTERESTING: This hybrid form was developed by the breeder due to the lack of good varieties adapted to the local climate.

The bushes of this grape are vigorous, for the first year the shoots ripen very well. As a rule, a full harvest from the bush can be collected in the second - third year of planting.

Ataman Pavlyuk, Anyuta and Anthony the Great are also among the vigorous varieties.

Variety tolerates grafting on other bushes, but it is best to grow "Valek" on its own roots, to avoid changes in taste.

The density of the clusters is considered to be rather high, but experienced growers note that the berries at this density do not choke at all and do not deteriorate.

Brushes are not subject to peas subject to regular and proper pruning of the vine. Otherwise, even two clusters on the vine give the grinding of berries and the appearance of a sour taste.

Not at all prone to Ayut Pavlovsky, Angelika and Galben Know.
The self-fertility of grapes with bisexual flowers gives an almost 100% guarantee of the ovary. This process is not affected at all by rainy weather. The disclosure of flowers remains complete throughout 10 days.

ATTENTION: This variety serves as an excellent pollinator for other varieties.

The variety was specially bred for growing in areas with low winter temperatures. Therefore, the grapes "Valek" calmly tolerates frost. down to -24 ° C. But in order to avoid freezing with stronger frosts and lack of snow cover, the wood part should be covered for the winter with mulch, fir spruce branches or sawdust.

Among the winter-hardy varieties can also be noted Tukay, Ruslan and Super Extra.

Berries of a grade well transfer long transportations and are long stored, without losing at the same time commodity appearance. They are highly resistant to various fungal diseases of grapes and the rot. Osami are amazed.

Planting and care

The plant has a strong root system and the ability to grow over time. Considering this, it is necessary to plant the cuttings at a three-meter distance from each other in order to ensure proper nutrition of the roots and a sufficient amount of sunlight.

Grapes do not tolerate moist soil in lowlands, shady and marshy places. This should be considered when choosing a landing site. Best of all, "Valek" grows on light loam with a small amount of black earth.

Also, vines must be protected from the north wind and cold drafts. The best place to land is along the wall of the house or fence.

The pit before planting the seedling should be fed with special fertilizers that will provide the young plant with the prosperity of nutrients during the growth period. Watering the grapes is provided no more than three times a year. In a particularly dry year, you can water four times.

Pest and disease protection

The Valek grape variety has practically no significant drawbacks.

His susceptibility to mildew, oidium and decay is also at the height. But in order not to put bushes at risk, several rules should be observed:

  1. Ensure good soil drainage, in order to avoid excessive moisture accumulation.
  2. Regularly deal with weeds around grapes, which can be carriers of parasites and diseases.
  3. To carry out prophylactic spraying with various preparations three times during the period of maturation.
  4. In a timely manner to make nutrient fertilizers.

It is also worth taking certain preventive measures against bacterial cancer, chlorosis, anthracnosis, bacteriosis or rubella. Details on this in separate articles of the site.

The sweetness of the grapes always attracts wasps on its ripe berries. Various baits, destruction of nests near the site and mesh bags for bunches are a good protection against them.

Variety "Valek" favorite of many growers for its great appearance and unpretentiousness in cultivation. Has always enthusiastic and positive feedback from gardeners and grape lovers.
