The developers have already managed to patent their invention and awarded him a funny name - "Bear."
According to scientists, "Bear" cost them many years of hard work and thorough experimentation. All those who participated in the development of a new variety, have extensive experience in breeding. They have invested all their knowledge in "Bear" and today proudly present their offspring to the world.
“Our main task was to create such a variety that would be as competitive as possible at least in the domestic market,” said one of the breeders, the head of “KRiMM” Gennady Ryazanov. “We wanted the Russians not to be dependent on foreign varieties and not pay a lot of money for foreign potatoes, and had the opportunity to grow and buy high-quality vegetables domestically. "
Another goal pursued by the selekioners is to create a variety that could be profitably sold on the European markets. According to the developers, Mishka is an incredibly promising and potentially fruitful early potato variety that will surprise consumers with its excellent taste characteristics and neat reddish oval tubers. Very soon, say breeders, “Bear” will appear on Russian fields.
