The simplest and quite effective solution is the electric fumigator, which, when using certified plates or liquid, will save you from bloodsuckers.
Important! When operating the electric fumigator, it is worth considering the used plates. If they contain burnt areas (usually the middle), then you should either replace the device or purchase plates only from a certified manufacturer.
- Act. A plate impregnated with a special compound is placed in a small heater plugged into the socket. When heated, the chemical evaporates into the environment and leads to the death of insects. The normal duration of such a plate is up to 8 hours. There are more "advanced" fumigators, where the active substance is in a sealed can with a wick. Such a device can work 25-30 days.
- Benefits. The cost of the fumigator itself, depending on its functionality, can be different - from several tens of rubles for a conventional plate heater to several hundred for a serious device with a fan and a timer. In this case, the buyer chooses his wallet. And consumables - plates and bottles - are quite inexpensive. Ease of use of the device is also its advantage - all that is needed is to put the plate inside (or screw the container with insecticide) and turn on the electric fumigator into the socket.
- Disadvantages. Only one minus, but significant - fire risk. This heating device is for a long time uncontrolledly connected to the electrical network. A sudden fire in this case may not be noticed in time. Another drawback of the device is a small area of its operation - mosquitoes die only within a radius of up to 12 square meters. m
Paraffin or wax smoke bombs
It is advisable to use smoke or wax paraffin smoke boxes when outdoors in rabbits or placing cells in a large room (hut, hangar, etc.). The most modern and popular of them is the device with the "speaking" name "Silent Evening", containing permethrin, a plant substance made from chamomile flowers.
Did you know? Permethrin does not dissolve in hot weather and under the direct influence of the sun. It is not dangerous to humans, as it is successfully neutralized by the liver. But in animals it can cause hyperactivity and even aggressive behavior.
- Act. The cloud of drafts covers an area from 300 to 1000 square meters. m. in open areas, where its action lasts up to 3 days. Indoors, two hours after application, airing is carried out, and the sprayed composition repels insects for two weeks.
- Benefits. The checker is easy to use - it is installed on a solid non-combustible surface (brick), the wick is set on fire. After that, everyone needs to leave the area to be treated for a few minutes. Smoke containing permethrin penetrates all cavities and cracks. A large range, safety for human health and an acute effect on various groups of insects are also advantages of this type of insecticide. Smoke bollard is relatively inexpensive - about 500 rubles.
- Disadvantages. The main disadvantage comes from the advantage - the checker is not selective and, like the harmful ones, will destroy beneficial insects, for example, bees, at the site of application.
Photocatalytic traps
An example of a modern technical solution to the centuries-old problem with mosquitoes is photocatalytic traps, the principle of action of which is based on enticing insects and drawing into a special reservoir.
- Act. The fluorescent lamp shines in the ultraviolet range, emitting a certain amount of heat and carbon dioxide, simulating the radiation of the body of a person or animal and his breathing. Mosquitoes react to this deception and are sucked in with a fan into a trap where they die.
- Benefits. During the work of a trap chemicals are not used, it is absolutely silent. The device provides round-the-clock and automatic modes of operation (the device will turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn).
- Disadvantages. Other light sources located close to the trap may entice insects, making the device less effective. Cleaning the drive and the nets from dead insects can cause discomfort (squeamishness). In addition, the cost of the device is quite high - from 3000 rubles.
Lamp traps
Malicious insects can be neutralized with the help of lamp-traps, which can be used not only in a closed room, but also in cottages, gardens, on rabbit and other farms.
- Act. Ultraviolet lamp with a grid attracts mosquitoes and other flying nocturnal insects that fly to its light and die.
- Benefits. Mosquitoes and all moths die, leaving their dead in a pan.
- Disadvantages. In addition to mosquitoes, other insects are dying that simply "do not know."
