This, at the moment, is engaged in an innovative farmer Andrei Petkov from the village of Throw, in the Odessa region. He justifies his choice by the fact that the climate of Central Asia and the south of the Odessa region is almost indistinguishable. 
For the farmer's predictions, the harvest will have to wait a long time: about 6 years, but he believes that it is worth it, because one tree at the age of 10 can produce about 10 kg of pistachios.
To create a pistachio plantation, the farmer planted 3.5 hectares of this crop, and purchased seedlings in Uzbekistan. According to him, growing pistachios in the south of Ukraine is not difficult. Walnut is adapted to the dry climate and salty ground. Also, it withstands temperature fluctuations and can grow at -10 ° С and +40 ° С.
