This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the country Abdur Razzaq. He explained that this rice will help the people of Bangladesh to overcome vitamin A deficiency, which affects 23.7% of pregnant women. 
Golden rice has become the latest development of the Rice Research Institute in Bangladesh. The cultivation experiments were carried out for 2 years, and soon, as the minister claims, it will be available to everyone.
