Flour production in Ukraine decreased by almost 13 percent

In the first quarter of this year, the production of wheat and wheat-rye flour in Ukraine decreased to 391 thousand tons. This is 12.8% less than the figure for the same period of the previous year.

In March of this year, Ukrainian manufacturers produced 139 thousand tons of the above-mentioned product, which exceeds the figures for February 2019 by 5.1%. But compared to February 2014, it can be said that flour production decreased by 12.2%.

During the first three months of 2019, the volume of production of bread and bakery products in the country decreased by 7.7% compared with the figure for 2018 and amounted to 220 thousand tons. Thus, 75.9 thousand tons of product was produced in March of this year. That exceeds the February index by 9.4%. But if we compare these data with the February figures of 2018, it will be clear that the output of bread and bakery products decreased by 8.8%.

Earlier it was reported that this year Ukraine is planning to reduce the export of wheat, since it does not expect a high yield from this crop. So says the expert of the grain market Elizaveta Malyshko.
