The revolutionary plan for the centralized procurement and distribution of high-quality fodder is implemented on the basis of the agrofirma "Dovzhenko" (Poltava region, Shishaki village), where 50% of the ASTARTA cattle livestock is concentrated. The main infrastructure object of the plan is the complex for the production of finished feed for livestock, or feed center, which should start its work in spring 2017. Now the equipment for mixing feed has already been installed on the site, the construction of the administrative building, silo trenches and warehouses for the saving of finished feeds is underway. About 3 million dollars will be invested in the feed center.
Astarta saw the opportunities in the development of dairy farming in Ukraine, not paying attention to the current difficult situation on the milk market. Creating an effective automated feed production system will increase the quality of the menu of animals, which, in turn, will contribute to strengthening the well-being of livestock and increasing productivity by 20-30%. Such centralization will provide more rational use of resources due to the small-sized location of the feed wedge and the release of part of the equipment that used to serve the harvesting on each farm separately.
The capacity of the feed center in Shishak is designed to provide more than 10 thousand cattle nols. Due to a strong forage base, the company is preparing a model of cooperation to stimulate milk production in Poltava region.
